Congratulations to our students and staff for their commitment, dedication and cooperation. Our school earned an ‘A’ grade based on 2009 FCAT scores. This is a great achievement for a first year school in addition to medals that our students won in regional and statewide Science Olympiad competitions. According to FCAT results, 67% of our 6th graders met or exceeded the state expectations in Mathematics test, compared to the state average of 55% and county average of 54%. This was the highest percentage among the 6th graders in our district. The 6th graders also had a meeting or exceeding expectations ratio of 76% in reading, as opposed to the state average of 66% and county average of 64%. This was also the highest ratio in our district. 7th Graders also did well in Math. Their ratio of meeting and exceeding the expectations was 62%, compared to the state average of 60% and county average of 56%. Overall, this was a great beginning. Congratulations again to all SWBA teachers and students for a successful first year and for their hard work all year long. We also want to thank all the parents who trusted us and enrolled their children to our school . Without your faith and support none of this would have happened. We will continue to do our best to deserve your trust and strive to do better in the future. Comparison of Sweetwater Branch Academy FCAT Mean Scores Against District and State Mean Scores ![]()
